Couples Counseling.
One of the key elements of couples counseling is trauma-informed care. This approach recognizes the impact that trauma can have on an individual's life and seeks to provide a safe and supportive environment for healing to take place.
My training in trauma-informed care allows me to understand the ways in which trauma can affect a relationship and to work with couples in a way that is respectful of their experiences.
I also offer a variety of therapy modalities that can be tailored to the individual needs of each couple. These include Narrative therapy, Solution-Focused Couples Counseling, and Emotion Focused Therapy.
Narrative therapy is a form of therapy that helps couples to understand the stories they tell about their relationship and their experiences. By exploring these stories, couples can gain a deeper understanding of their experiences and work towards creating a new narrative that is empowering and healing for their relationship.
Solution-Focused Couples Counseling is a type of therapy that focuses on helping couples to identify and achieve specific goals for their relationship. This approach encourages couples to focus on what they want to achieve for their relationship rather than dwelling on the past.
Emotion Focused Therapy is a type of therapy that is designed to help couples manage their emotions and improve their relationships. This approach helps couples to understand the emotional experience of each other, the patterns of interaction and how to transform them in a more healthy way.
As a couples counselor, I understand that healing from sexual trauma can be a long and difficult journey, not just for individuals but also for couples. My dedication is to provide a safe and supportive space for couples to explore their experiences and work towards healing and growth of their relationship.
